What’s next on the horizon for you?
I’m on tour a lot this year. I’d like to find time to do more paintings. Also, more films to come. I’m enjoying hanging out with my wife and daughter. The best art that I’ve created is my kid with my wife. It’s the best!

Chester: "focus on the relationship that matters the most"
Chester did an interview with MYXPH over the phone. He talked about his career and a bit about family:
How about his family you may ask? Chester is a husband and father aside from being a well recognized artist. When asked about balancing his work with his family life, Chester said, "It's tricky. You need to know when it's a good time to go in, and stay home... and focus on the relationship that matters the most."
Work can take over from time to time but Chester makes sure that he gets to leave time for his family and himself.

Chester Interviews in Australia
The Sydney Morning Herald did and interview with Chester that you can read here.
A lot has happened to Bennington since the band's success in 2000 off the back of single In the End . Having earlier struggled with methamphetamines and alcohol, the frontman again found himself relying on booze and drugs (this time marijuana), had to contend with a failed marriage and also hold his professional life together. The latter he did, with the band pushing their sound on 2003's Meteora, 2007's Minutes to Midnight, 2010's A Thousand Suns and last year's well-received Living Things. He also did an interview with The Daily Telegraph. Read it here...

It's the latest album that brings the band back to Australia, playing Soundwave alongside Metallica and Blink-182, as well as a sideshow. Bennington is excited to return not least of all because he feels Linkin Park have a lot more work to do in Australia.
''We haven't been able to get there very often and I know that our fans want to see the band perform live - I'd have liked to have come out there more often but the Earth is pretty big and there are only so many places we can be with the time we have,'' he says. ''We know we have a lot of work to do to prove ourselves over there.''
But fans shouldn't expect frequent visits. Balance now plays a much larger role in all aspects of Bennington's life, right down to the amount of time he's out on the road.
''We need to be home more; we've got children and wives and families that need us, and they don't care that we're in the band,'' he says. ''We've always been a pretty clean-nosed band, with the exception of my occasional dabbling in some extra-curricular activities. Now, for the most part, things are a lot easier and better for us.''

The Rebel Yell interview with Chester
Chester talked to The Rebel Yell while at the Club Tattoo signing.
-LPTimes
CB: I love tattoos. I want everybody to get a tattoo and I want them all to come to Club Tattoo to get them. It is a decision that you have to be an adult to make. It’s a lifelong choice. It’s a commitment. None of my kids are allowed to come home with a tattoo before they turn 18.Definitely worth a read. He also mentions new Linkin Park music and the upcoming Transformers movie. ;)

Chester interviewed by Phoenix New Times
UOTS: What about you personally? You were in Saw 3D last year, any plans to do more acting?
CB: I don't know, man, that was a pretty bad movie. It was fun. I don't actively go out and audition for movies. I've got a lot of stuff going on between the five kids I have at my house and my wife and Linkin Park I barely had enough time to squeeze out a Dead by Sunrise album. I think that I'm really stoked, I'm really happy where things are right now and I'm kind of enjoying the ride I'm on. So I'm just looking forward to making the next Linkin Park record, I'm looking forward to finishing this tour and getting back into the studio. All I want to do is sit in the studio and make new records, that's all I want to do. That's my goal. I want to get back into the studio as soon as possible and make some more music.

Setting out on a long world tour for Bennington, 34, means putting in advance time with his family - he has a wife and five children (four of his own plus a niece) that touring often necessitates leaving behind.
They won't be joining dad in Australia before Christmas as the kids will still be stuck in school, where, as their proud dad tells it, they're excelling.
"My oldest son has taken up music, that's all he does all day long, every day. My niece is a high honour-roll student, and in a cheerleading squad. And my second to oldest son is a baseball player, he wants to play basketball, and he's also a high honour-roll student."
They're all brainiacs, by the sounds of it. Not the run-of-the-mill rock 'n' roll progeny.
"Yup, they're geniuses," Bennington laughs, "and I have no idea why."

A Day in the Life of Linkin Park
AOL have a video telling what goes on in a day in the life of Linkin Park. Click here to check it out!
It’s been a long few days for Linkin Park vocalists Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda. The band flew from Los Angeles to New York to do a frantic round of print, radio, Internet and TV promotion, play an intimate club show for Best Buy and attend the meet and greet after show party. Now they’re getting ready to fly back home, where Shinoda will attend a friend’s birthday party and Bennington will spend some time with his wife and kids before Linkin Park start rehearsing for their upcoming tour, which begins on Oct. 20 in Berlin, Germany.

New LP shows maturity
Chester spoke with Zorianna Kit for Reuters:

"With this album, we've taken the microscope off ourselves and opened it up to the world," Bennington said of himself and band members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave "Phoenix" Farrell, Joe Hahn and Rob Bourdon.
"A lot of us are dads, we all have families and we're much more mature than we were when we were 19 years-old, writing records," he said.
Bennington said the new record perfectly represents where the band members are as individuals today and how they view the world. The band's frontman has four sons, and fatherhood really "chilled" him out, he said.
"When I was younger, I liked songs that got people wanting to punch others in the face," he said. "Now, I don't want to scream at people. I want to talk to people. I feel much more able to speak about how I view things in the world."
He cited "The Messenger," which he wrote, as one example. He called it "literally a letter from me to my children" about how much they are loved by their parents. He said he wants them to remember that fact if they ever feel alone in the world.
"That's something I don't think I would have been very comfortable singing about 10 years ago," Bennington said.

Chester talks about "The Messenger"
What's the story behind "The Messenger"?
More from that great interview can be read/watched here. Part 2 is coming later.
That song actually came to me almost entirely all at once. The second I heard the chord progression, the melody came and then the words came. It literally dawned on me like a flood, which is very rare. Usually, songs come in pieces, but this song came right away! Thank God, there's technology in my phone that allows me to record ideas whenever they arrive. Initially, I started the song off with a line that's not in there anymore. I began with, "You are a child with so many choices. The hardest always make us cry." Right away, I knew I was going to write a letter to my kids, basically. It's telling them you're getting ready to go out into the world, you're going to get kicked around, it's going to be tough and you're going to find yourself in some painful situations, but here's what's important—you're always going to be loved by your family, and that will always get you through. That's going to be the one lifeline that you have which will pull you through all of this chaos around you. Eventually, what ended up coming out of that is the song you hear on the record. It's such a vulnerable, open and very honest song in that way. We really felt like we wanted to replicate that original recording of the guitar and vocal in the phone as much as possible. We recorded the vocal, and we didn't put any special sauce on it or anything. We didn't double the vocals, and we didn't try to go for the perfect performance. I just sang it with my heart. Brad [Delson] played guitar. Mike [Shinoda] sat in the other room, and we all played it together. It was presented in the simplest way, and that's what we've got.

Noisecreep interview
Chester and Mike were interviewed for NoiseCreep.com. Here is an excerpt:
"I was writing 'Messenger' as a letter to my kids. I was saying that eventually you're going to go out into the world and find out it's challenging out there, but just remember there's always a place for you where you are accepted for who you are and you're loved for all the things that make you who you are. I think that's really important and I think it helps get us through this craziness that we live in." -Chester
Inside the mind of Mike Shinoda

Thanks again to Tensh_iie for letting me know. :)
"Love is grounding. My wife, family and friends are my foundation and I always go back to them at the end of the day. Without love, life would be...less. That couldn't be more of a complicated question to answer!"

“I kind of don’t [need to paint,] but I kind of do,” Shinoda said. “I really enjoy painting and I end up spending some of my free time doing it. People would be surprised, I actually find time to paint and to just chill out and spend time with my family.
The difference for me where my time is spent and that it’s focused time. I’m not just sitting and watching TV and commercials or reading stuff that makes me feel like I’ve just turned my brain off.”
