The Rebel Yell interview with Chester

Chester talked to The Rebel Yell while at the Club Tattoo signing.
CB: I love tattoos. I want everybody to get a tattoo and I want them all to come to Club Tattoo to get them. It is a decision that you have to be an adult to make. It’s a lifelong choice. It’s a commitment. None of my kids are allowed to come home with a tattoo before they turn 18.
Definitely worth a read. He also mentions new Linkin Park music and the upcoming Transformers movie. ;)

Live Review quote

Another review from last nights show quotes Chester:
Bennington also gave a special dedication in the middle of the show. He smiled announcing, "I want to say hi to my son up there. He got to bring his friends to the show for the first time. I hope you're having fun! I love you buddy."

Last night Sanmantha posted on her facebook that she was going to take Draven to the show. Later Chester tweeted about how amazing the show was: "Best crowd we've ever had in LA tonight! Thank you!!!".

Dead By Sunrise interview at Ulalume

Here is a transcript from a part of the brief interview:

Kat Von D: Chester, you and Linkin Park were on the first Twilight movie soundtrack, are you excited to see the movie (New Moon)?

Chester: You know...I am. I have 4 kids and my teenage niece, they are all very, very aexcited. They've read all the books, so I have to be really excited too.

It's not a perfect transcript but forgive me, it's 4am lol...

Rob On Thanksgiving at Home

"We're excited to be home to see our families and hang out with friends and all that, 'cause last Thanksgiving we were in Japan. Our agent had booked a show and we ended up having Thanksgiving at Roy's in Japan, and the chefs there were kind enough to kind of throw together the best version of Thanksgiving dinner that they could. Some of the stuff they nailed, but some of the stuff was just not quite what you get at home."

Chester's quote

"I’ve been on the beach for like the past week in my mankini. I highly recommend it for it’s offensiveness and the freedom from long shorts that lead to horrifying tan lines from the knees up." - Chester
Ok he doesn't really mention Talinda, but if he's been on the beach it means she's been there too, right?. (Ok I just want to feel useful here haha).

Metal Hammer July 2002

"Well I have a new house and a new baby, but I just want people when I'm not doing my music to let me be. If I'm out walking my dog and my kid's with me, I don't want to hang out and talk about Linkin Park, I just want to walk my dog."

"Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying my life and I feel suitably blessed but when I'm off the road and with my family, let me be a dad, let me be a husband and just chill out."

"All I wanna say is it's amazing what having a shoot with a professional photographer can do for you. I'm amazed my wife can even look at me!"

Linkin Park, family men

Here is a bit from a teleconference call with Chester and Mike....

“As much as we talk about how much time we like to be with our families and take off, it’s important for us to have a balance. The reality is that if we take even a week longer than we expected, it becomes uncomfortable." - Chester

Quote about Anna

RM: "As a teenager, I'd sometimes meet a cute girl at the beach and meet her later that night. After she'd put on makeup and changed clothes, I'd think, What happened to that girl from the beach?"

MIKE: "I used to tell my wife not to wear any makeup. [laughs]" - Risen Magazine

Interview with Mike and Brad

A recent interview with Mike and Brad in New Zealand can be heard here. A quote from Mike about the Ladies...

Do your partners come on the road with you?

Mike: Well they come out sometimes, it just depends on the trip. With the experiences we've had, we've been touring so long that the girls have, sometimes you like to go certain places more than others, sometimes there is important stuff going on at home and to be honest they've got lives of their own as well. If they've got something to do they do it.

Thanks Katie!!

Quote from Chester about his boys

"I've got four boys myself and they all love music."

May 20, 2007

Excerpt from Kerrang

Chester Bennington is someone you'd have thought would want to pour a lot of heart into his lyrics. The last couple of years of his life have been difficult. He's talking, unwillingly, about how he recently divorced his first wife Samantha, a woman he reportedly met while working in a Burger King and married when he was just 20 years old. He's also talking, equally grudgingly, about how, shortly after his divorce, he remarried new wife Talinda Bentley. When he speaks, he peppers his sentences with endless "You knows" and "likes", as though unsure of what it is he actually wants to say.

"If we were a tabloid band then we wouldn't have to talk about this as you'd already know all this kind of stuff" he says, resignedly. "I got divorced. That's always fun. That's always a good time. I felt like someone, like, came up to me and said, 'Here's a big pile of sh**. Eat it'. I also got remarried, so I had, you know, end the other one. I lost all my money in the divorce and that sucks. That was something that was very difficult to deal with. All these things make you feel hung, drawn and quartered.

It was a process that on and on, Bennington getting ever wearier by the divorce proceedings.

"There are certain things that you'd like to let go and you can't because they've got their claws in you, you know." he continues. "It's like you get shot by a Taser and all these little hooks grab into your skin. After those shock you and drop you to the ground, you think, 'Thank God that's over'. Then all the person has to do is stand there and wait to zap you again. That's what my life has been like for the last couple of years. I'll et my ass kicked and then, when I'm feeling relief and trying to let things go. I'll realize this thing is still stuck in me. Then, every once in a while, I'll get zapped and reminded of what I was going through. That's a pretty hard place to live."

Thanks Agnes.

Clearing it up

Rashell sent me an email with this info. :)

"someone had a baby, someone did a Fort Minor project, someone else made a short film and open up a store, and someone had a couple clothing lines, someone else got -- had another baby and then got married." -Joe

Chester commenting on Malaysia

My wife and I were talking about how excited we are about bringing our kids out here for perhaps vacation and get to experience more of the culture than just flying in and doing shows.

Monica Peters and Mike Shinoda: REAL TALK

MP: Is it hard being married and trying to maintain a music career?

MS: Yeah. I actually wrote a song called “Where’d You Go” to show my wife that I know what it’s like when I’m gone. The song actually starts there, then the story trails off into other directions. I have had other people say it’s descriptive about their parent who was always gone, too. At any rate, the hardest part about doing what I do is how much time it can take up.

MP: Do you have any children? How many kids do you want to have?

MS: I don’t have kids.

MP: Choose one Ben and Jerry's or Hagen Daas?

MS: I like ice cream a lot—my wife calls me an ice-cream snob. I would go mochi ice cream. Green tea.

MP: Last question but not least-- How are you today? What did you do today?

MS: I’m fine. I had a two-hour conference call with my team about the Fort Minor record, Linkin Park stuff, our label, and our marketing company. I have some interviews set up via email. I just went to lunch with my wife-A small sandwich shop around the corner. I’ll probably be handling Fort Minor business for the rest of the day.

From a Holly Brook interview.

Have you done a lot of touring? Do you have people at home that miss you?

Shinoda:
As you know, the song "Where'd You Go," I wrote it for my wife,
Anna, who you know. A lot of people do songs about being on the road, and I wanted to do this song about the opposite perspective: the people who are
at home, your family, your friends, your loved ones who are at home.

Thanks Betty!! :) From MTV.
