Linkin Lady: Anna at the SCBWI Summer Conference

Apologies for this update being so late. I've had a rough past week battling a terrible cold. I want to thank crazygirl 100 times for helping me out by sending all these pictures to me! :) Enjoy!

11 years ago when I walked into my first SCBWI conference, I had no idea that the connections I made would lead me to be a published author. Speaking here as a faculty member today means so much to me. I'm about to get super sappy, which is a direction I generally don't go, but, I'm sleep deprived and full of sap. As a faculty member we were asked to introduce ourselves and give one word. My word is heartbeat. Partially because it refers to a part of my talk on Sunday about narrative tension, but also because I feel like SCBWI is kind of the heartbeat of my career - not the pulse or the heart (that's my love of writing and my love of kids & teens). But the heartbeat: always there, steady, comforting. #LASCBWI15
